Berzelia Rubra Buttonbush Rose
Berzelia Rubra Buttonbush Rose produces round, perfectly spherical flower heads in deep rose-pink on wiry, branching stems - the button form is one of the most distinctive flower structures in the Cape Fynbos flora. The heads are firm, long-lasting, and excellent as cut flowers, with a vase life of two to three weeks and a strong drying quality - cut stems hung upside down will hold their colour and form almost indefinitely. Flowers from late autumn through winter, providing colour and cut flower material during one of the quieter periods in the garden year. Full sun. Sandy, very well-drained soil. Phosphorus-free fertiliser essential. Minimal summer irrigation once established.
