Dianella Cherry Red

Dianella is one of the hardest-working plants in the Perth garden - tough, adaptable, long-lived, and effective across an enormous range of conditions from full sun to part shade. Cherry Red is a foliage selection with distinctive cherry-red colouration at the base of the leaves - the stems and leaf bases flush to a vivid red that contrasts sharply against the dark green of the leaf blades. The colour is most intense in cooler weather and in good light. A good choice where something slightly more ornamental than standard green-leaved Dianella is wanted. Full sun to part shade. Well-drained soil. Drought tolerant once established.
