Gardenia Florida

One of the most fragrant shrubs in any garden. Gardenias are subtropical and perform well in Perth's warm summers, though they prefer slightly acidic soil and consistent moisture. Full sun to part shade. Well-drained, slightly acidic soil. Mulch heavily. Water regularly. Feed with an acid-forming fertiliser. Treat yellowing with iron chelate. Florida is a straight species form with similar character to Augusta Florida - large, fragrant white flowers on a medium shrub.
