Pomegranate Wonderful

One of the most ornamental fruiting trees available, and one that is extraordinarily well-suited to Perth's climate. Pomegranates evolved in exactly our conditions - hot dry summers, cold winters, alkaline sandy soils - and they thrive here with minimal fuss. Wonderful produces large, deep red fruit with intensely coloured, sweet-tart arils. The tree itself is beautiful through all seasons - stunning crimson-orange flowers in spring and summer, striking autumn colour before leaf drop. Full sun, well-drained soil. Genuinely drought tolerant once established. Water through summer to improve fruit size. Very little fertiliser needed. Prune to shape in late winter.
