Stylidium Raptor Pink

Stylidium Raptor Pink

Raptor Pink Trigger Plant is a WA native perennial producing masses of small pink flowers on tall, branching stems over an extended season from spring through summer. The common name comes from the insect-triggered pollen-delivery mechanism in each flower - a hinged column that snaps forward to deposit pollen on visiting bees and flies in a fraction of a second, a mechanism unique to the Stylidium genus. The flowers are small individually but produced in such quantity that the plant makes a vivid display. Full sun. Sandy, well-drained soil. Phosphorus-free fertiliser. Very drought tolerant once established.
