Telopea Shady Lady White
Shady Lady White Waratah produces large cream-white flower heads - the same bold, architectural form of the classic Waratah but in a clean, cool-toned white that reads completely differently in the garden. It was bred specifically to tolerate part shade, which makes it one of the very few Proteaceae suitable for positions that don't get full day sun - an unusual and genuinely useful quality. It flowers in late spring and grows to around 2-3m, developing into a substantial, handsome shrub with large, dark green leaves. Part shade to full sun. Well-drained, slightly acidic soil. Phosphorus-free fertiliser. Water through summer while establishing. Prune hard after flowering to promote strong growth for the following season.
