Hickson is a mid-season Australian mandarin producing large, slightly flat fruit with a thick, easy-to-peel skin and juicy, well-flavoured flesh. It ripens in Perth from late May through June, overlapping with the later part of the Imperial season. The fruit is seeded but the eating quality is good - generous juice content and the classic sweet-tart mandarin balance. An older variety that has stood the test of time in Australian gardens because it performs reliably in our conditions. Full sun. Well-drained soil. Deep watering through summer.
