Syzygium Straight and Narrow

Few plants work harder in Perth gardens than Syzygium. The lilly pilly genus delivers year-round foliage, colourful new growth that often flushes pink, red, or bronze, bird-attracting berries in late summer and autumn, and one of the cleanest, most manageable hedging habits available in a native plant. Modern cultivars have been bred specifically to address the psyllid problem that affected older varieties. Full sun to part shade. Adaptable to most well-drained soils. Regular watering while establishing. Once settled, tolerates periods of dryness. Low-phosphorus native fertiliser. Clip or prune at any time to shape.
